I don't know why Dad spent all that money on a new DSLR. His old film camera seems to work just fine. :P I pulled Dad's old rangefinder film camera outta storage for our trip to Quebec. Shot on some cheap old 800 iso stock. -Ryan

"We are not Blog People*..." -In PRINT

For Christmas this year, Neil & Veronica put together a photo book made up of the photos Melissa & I post on our "photoblog". I was quite excited when I got it. Melissa took it with us to Quebec to show just about all of her family and friends. A serendipitous extension of this gift was that we were able to see people's reactions, and hear their compliments first hand, pretty much for the first time. It felt kinda nice, and it is appreciated. However, "the fates" are keeping me "honest" because anytime I tried to take a picture of the book, it came back out of focus. :P
Again, thank you Neil & Veronica, this is truly a wonderful Christmas present.

Tonight was sort of an impromptu family night. Mom and Dad came down for a visit. Dad brought his new camera. (Used for this pic.) We went out for dinner at the Baan Thai restaurant to visit Neil at work. If you are ever out in the Junction area and want good Thai food, stop by Baan Thai -Ryan

Blackcomb Clouds

On my last day in Whistler the sun started to poke through the clouds at the peak. This is shot from the Whistler village-to-peak gondola. Looking at Blackcomb. Pretty much stickin' the camera out the window and firing away. Flying back to Toronto tonight. More pics to come after I get myself settled.

Karaoke at the HoJo

It started out innocently enough. Over to Brian's to listen to some records.
Maybe drink some beer.
Brian says "C'mon fellas, I hear there is going to be a punk rock show show at the Biltmore. It'll be neat-o"
James rounds up a posse. Tell them to hurry up. The show might sell out.
The show sold out. The Howard Johnson Hotel bar beckons us to come in. Any port in a storm, right?
...and the pitchers start flowing
James contemplates karaoke.
Brian and James kick it ol' school with "The Humpty Dance"
They do a little dance.
The crowd goes wild and rushes the dance floor.
Damian is quite chuffed with the situation as Brian embraces him from behind.
Some Aussies from the aforementioned crowd invite us to a spontaneous house party...
...at 3 in the morning.
James dances while Brian wonders where his wallet went.
Not too sure whose apartment it was. Random Aussie girl #3?
Or was it Random Aussie girl #1?
