*....or so the story goes. Once upon a time, Ryan suggested to Melissa that they start a 'blog'. To which Melissa said, "We are not blog people!" And so here we are. We are teaching ourselves photography, taking the camera everywhere with us. This little blog is meant to show off shots we are proud of, and to give you a glimpse into our adventures. Comments always welcome!

We were sifting through the archives a bit tonight. Melissa shot this while in France. If you are up on your TinTin comics, you will recognize this castle. Larger version here.

Ok one more "panorama" and then I will put the photostitch away. I found myself up on Eglinton today. Since I have never been, I thought I would pay a visit to the only building left standing on the old Eastman Kodak site. This is the old gymnasium-slash-auditorium in the administration building. Larger version here.

Cayman Island Hurricane House
«« prev next »»
Hurricane Ivan hit the Cayman Islands back in 2004. There are still hundreds of properties that have not been repaired. I took an afternoon and visited a few houses. This is one of them. This is a 'quick & dirty' 5-shot-handheld panorama done in photoshop that came out with some favorable results. Large version here.

Been a while eh?

Well It's been ages since we have updated this little corner of the world. We hope to get this up and going again very soon. So, here is a "two-for" to get back into things.
Shot by Ryan, Sunday afternoon, up just off of Lakeridge road.
This is Ryan's first foray into Infra Red photography. It is still a work in progress with a few tweaks to make....but it's just been so long since the last post. Shot in Cayman at Auntie Lee's house.

Ryan & Chopper's Big Day Out
«« prev next »»
A couple weekends ago, I grabbed the dog, Uncle Guy's old film camera and we hit the Contact Photo Festival exhibits up in the Junction. One photographer spotted the old Minolta slung over my shoulder and commented that she used to use the same one. I handed her the camera and told her to snap off a couple shots for old time's sake. She had me and Chopper sit in the front window of her studio and she went outside to take the shot. I like how it turned out.

Wind Storm
«« prev next »»
Shot right before that big storm hit this weekend. That's actually a giant dust cloud coming in across the right side of the shot. It felt like a sand storm down here on the lakefront. Dry sand blowing around from all of the construction site. I was cleaning sand outta my ears for a day or two. -Ryan

On Friday night, we had 5th row seats to see The Tragically Hip at The Danforth Music Hall. I spotted The Hip's Head of Security standing near us and asked him if I could go up to the front of the stage and snap some pics. Thus, circumventing the event security. It was one of the better Hip shows we have been to in recent years. More shots here.

Tremblant
«« prev next »»
Well I have been meaning to post these one-a-day this week, but that didn't really happen. Soooo here is a handful of shots from our weekend in Tremblant. -Ryan
At the bottom of the hill.
Too cool for school.
Some couple.
Fiona and Ryan L.
Maple Syrup Taffy. We are such tourists.
Aboard the shuttle bus back to the parking lot. This was on our last day. On the day we actually went skiing, we parked on the north side of the mountain with the rest of the locals away from the resort and tourists. I have never been with the locals. It was quite a party. The warm weather was perfect for a giant tailgate party where people could ski to their truck, fire up the bbq and crack open a beer.
Ryan L. handled a lot of the cooking. While he does cook a mean steak, Gerald (Fiona's Dad), steals the show with his Flaming Sambuca Scallops.
Gerald is converting the cottage laundry room into a wine cellar. This is the start. Oh, and this is only half. The rest is on the bottom shelf
