*....or so the story goes. Once upon a time, Ryan suggested to Melissa that they start a 'blog'. To which Melissa said, "We are not blog people!" And so here we are. We are teaching ourselves photography, taking the camera everywhere with us. This little blog is meant to show off shots we are proud of, and to give you a glimpse into our adventures. Comments always welcome!

Maps For Sale
«« prev next »»

Not a stellar photo in this bunch, BUT, a funny story... I spotted this guy walking in front of First Canadian Place selling map books. I thought it was a sweet photo opp. A guy selling maps to cab drivers. I was barely able to pull my camera up and get three shots fired when he spots me. He starts yelling at me and crosses the street. I calmly walk away, not giving any indication of hearing him yelling at me and pursuing me as I walk along King st. "Hey! Gimme that film" "You can't take pictures of me!" "Are you a cop!?!?" "Whats your badge number!!??" Well it wasn't a running chase, but he did finally catch up to me a block or two later. I finally turned to achknowledge him. I told him I was nobody. Just a tourist. He grunted and wandered off. I guess he wasn't an authorised dealer for MapArt.....

Skater
«« prev next »»

This is my first attempt at two things here. I have always wanted to try shooting some skaters. Instead of setting up manually and missing the moment, I switched over to "P" mode and let 'er rip. This is also my first attempt in photoshop at doing this sort of trick. I did it the hard, tedious, amateur way. Could somebody forward me a link to a tutorial on creating a path using the pen tool? I can't wait to try this all again.

Woofstock
«« prev | next »»

Today we went downtown with Chopper to attend "WoofStock", a street festival for dogs. Normally we aren't into this yuppy, hippy-dippy kinda stuff, but we are trying to socialise Chopper and get him used to other dogs. Pictured here is Vegas sporting some real fly sunglasses.

Under Construction.....again....

Well, with the wedding and honeymoon disappearing in our rearview mirror, we've run out of things to talk about. Sooooo why not start a new project? We haven't been shooting or posting much lately. Installing hardwood flooring in an 80 year old house is not quite a 1-weekend project. In this shot we are right down to the original floor boards. That's Ryan's dad in the shot. Big thanks to Ma & Pa for all their help.
